2nd IT-APA Convention

IT-APA (the Italian Aviation Psychology Association) will be hosting their 2nd IT-APA Convention on "Aviation psychology: area of intervention and prospects" on the 13th of November at the Rome Fiumicino Airport (Terminal 1 - Leonardo da Vinci Innovation Hub)

The theme of the 2nd IT-APA Conference is to deepen and expand topics already covered in the first edition which will once again see the aviation psychologist at the centre of the topics covered.

In this appointment we will focus on the contexts in which psychological skills are crucial for enhancing well-being and achieving performances that meets the demands of such a rapidly changing environment
The event is aimed at aviation professionals and stakeholders to facilitate meetings, collaborations and discussion in order to broaden networking.

The conference will be held in the modern "Aeroporti di Roma INNOVATION HUB" in the strategic location of Fiumicino "Leonardo Da Vinci" airport that can be reached in about 30 minutes by public transport from Termini Railway Station in city centre.

APOC is the air traffic management hub for the Single European Sky and a prime example of technological innovation designed to revolutionize the approach to airport operations. Spanning approximately 1,900 square meters, the facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology designed to ensure operational continuity, even during critical situations or potential cyber-security attacks. Featuring 16 control rooms and 112 workstations, the APOC provides a unified workspace where key airport stakeholders collaborate to efficiently manage all activities essential to the airport's smooth operation. The APOC monitors aircraft and passenger flows—both inside and outside the terminals—in real time, as well as baggage handling across the two sorting systems. By sharing standardized indicators updated in real time, the facility optimizes airport operational planning and efficiency while ensuring the necessary readiness to respond to unforeseen events.
